Are you our new Art Director?

Open’s creative team has an exciting new opening for a Senior or Midweight Art Director to help us deliver inspiring, responsive campaigns for some of the world’s most loved charities.

Are you an Art Director with charity agency experience? Come and join Open’s exciting creative team and help our clients change the world.

Following successful pitch wins, Open – a proud B Corp – is growing! And we’re looking for fresh talent to join our creative team. So if you’re looking to work with some of the biggest charity brands, on some of the biggest projects going, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to create responsive work, both on and offline. You don’t need to have a degree but you should have a portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual ideas and good design skills. Fundraising charity experience is essential.

At Open, you'll collaborate with Copywriters to develop ideas and work alongside Designers and Artworkers to bring them to life, producing campaigns for some of the biggest and most well-known charities, including the Royal British Legion, Alzheimer’s Society, RSPB, Cats Protection and many more. You’ll have the chance to create campaigns for TV and film as well as digital, direct mail, press, radio and other channels. You’ll also know that every campaign you work on will help to make the world a better place.

You’ll be full of ideas, know how to get people to take action, be a confident presenter, and possess strong skills in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. If you also know your way around After Effects, Premiere Pro and the Google Suite, then you’re onto a winner.

As an agency working exclusively with charities, we’re incredibly proud of the global impact our work has, and the many millions we help raise for good causes. And as a B Corp and employee-owned agency, we practise what we preach, ensuring we operate in a way that looks after people and the planet. At Open, benefits include 25 days’ holiday, your birthday off and a volunteering day.

Though the role doesn’t currently include any line management responsibilities, there may be the opportunity to recruit and manage people as the team grows. At Open, we believe in growing our people, so training and development will also be available to bridge any skills gaps.

Our office is situated in Clerkenwell, within the Old School Building, 1 Naoroji Street, just a short walk from both Farringdon and King’s Cross stations. This is a hybrid-role with a minimum of two office days a week expected. We have a number of employees based outside of London who commute a few days a week. Though this is a permanent, full-time role, we’re also happy to discuss flexible working for the right candidate.

If this sounds like the job for you, please fill in the application form and include a short cover letter (detailing which role you're applying for and your level and experience) along with 3–4 examples of relevant work.
