New partnership: Alzheimer’s Society

Open are thrilled to have been chosen as Alzheimer’s Society’s leading creative and strategic partner for the next three years, supporting their ambitious mission to double their annual income to £200m by 2030.
We will be working across all of the organisation’s fundraising teams to ensure campaigns are integrated, maximising response at every point and capitalising on their award-winning brand activity to grow their programme, impact, and attract new audiences.
A crucial starting point for our partnership is shaping public perception of dementia, changing the narrative from ‘one of those things’ that can happen in older age, to a disease which can be prevented and something you or your loved ones should not have to endure.
The team at Alzheimer’s Society has already begun working with a strong brand narrative, and together with the fundraising team, we’ll be aligning campaigns and fundraising messaging to tell one story with one voice; ensuring big flagship moments like the Forget Me Not campaign and Christmas fundraising reach their full potential.
Some of the work we’ve done so far includes revamping their supporter newsletter, a new Trek26 film and a research-focused spring appeal (pictured below).
We will also be working strategically across other teams including events, individual giving, philanthropy, high value giving, and legacies, joining forces with New Commercial Arts and MediaLab to help increase their reach and impact across all channels.
Alzheimer’s Society’s Chief Marketing Officer, Alex Hyde-Smith, said, "We believe in having a small number of agency partners who feel like an essential part of our extended team, and we have quickly built this with the passionate and dedicated team at Open, who care about our business as much as we do. Like us, they believe in creating work that makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives, and their experience and commitment to the charity sector makes them a great choice for our team. We look forward to delivering growth and impact with them."
Our co-founder, Tim Longfoot, shared, "This is a huge moment for Open. The team at Alzheimer’s Society are incredibly talented and we’re already delivering fantastic work together. They’ve been really smart about their team and agency set up, and between the partners they’ve selected the growth potential is massive."
We’re looking forward to continuing to get to know the team and their supporters better, and working alongside them towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
