Open’s Best Bits – IOF Fundraising Convention 2019

Monday, July 8th, 2019

That’s a wrap! It was a big three days for Open, with our team on the ground at the Barbican in London for the Institute of Fundraising’s Convention 2019 last week.

We had a record number of speakers, with Brian Searle, Lucy Edwards, Lou Lai and James Dawe taking to the stage to speak on fundraising tech, what we’ve learned from benchmarking, how to do a rapid delivery and the amazing potential in global propositions.

Lou Lai and James Dawe both wowed the Barbican Hall with their amazing speaker sessions.

We even squeezed in a mini-I Wish I’d Thought Of That (IWITOT), with 8 special speakers vying for a prize bottle of Moet and a coveted place in the IWITOT winner’s hall of fame. The hilarious Chloe Green took out first place for her celebration of an LGBTQ+ campaign in Australia by Minus18. Check out the @LifeAtOpen Instagram Moments for all the coverage!

Chloe Green took out first place, and our talented speakers entertained, educated and inspired.

And we brought day three to a close with Josh Leigh compèring a flash Pizza For Losers with Nikki Bell, with four fantastic failures sharing some personal stories about things that went wrong for them, and what we can all learn.

Head over to the @LifeAtOpen on Twitter and Instagram for full coverage of our speakers, out favourite talks and everything else we got up to at IoFFC this year!
